🌿🍓What if some of the best flavors aren't found in a grocery store?

In our September/October issue, James Beard Award-winning creator Alexis Nikole Nelson (blackforager) gives a look into her new book, "Happy Snacking, Don't Die". She shares how foraging connects people not only to food, but also to nature, heritage, and community. From gathering edible plants with her mother as a child, to inspiring millions online to look more closely around at the world around them, Nelson makes the case that foraging is less about survival and more about curiosity, connection, and stewardship.

She also tackles common misconceptions about foraging, discusses the role of social media in nature education, and reflects on how wild foods may become increasingly important in a changing climate.

Read the full interview at ahsgardening.org to discover why Nelson believes learning what's growing around us can change our perspective on our neighborhoods, communities, and food.
