While baseball is ending soon this week in Sacramento at Sutter Health Park, the push to have a major league team permanently is still strong in the region. While the A’s still have one more season here, Sacramento has been pushing for an expansion team since 1987. In this video, Shawn discusses Sacramento’s March on Baseball from August 23, 1987 when 21,000 Sacramentans went to the Oakland Coliseum to see the New York Yankees play the Athletics. You can learn more about this event and the history of baseball in Sacramento at the Sacramento History Museum with one of our latest exhibitions, “Play Ball! Sacramento in the National Pastime.” #SacHistoryMuseum #rivercats #learnontiktok #sacramento #museumtok @Sacramento River Cats @Athletics
