The import crowd spent a decade saying the Mustang couldn't turn, then the S550 showed up with independent rear suspension and everyone quietly changed the subject to "but it's heavy." Meanwhile you've got a naturally aspirated 5.0 that revs to 7500, three pedals still on the order sheet in 2024, and a parts catalog so deep that nothing on the car is a custom part. Gen 2 Coyote is 435hp/400tq in the 15-17 cars, Gen 3 bumps to 460/420 from 18 up with direct and port injection. Performance Pack gets you six-piston Brembos, a 3.73 Torsen and the extra chassis bracing. 5x114.3, 70.5 hub bore, 19x9 front and 19x9.5 rear from the factory on PP cars — which means fitment is a shopping decision, not an engineering project.

That's the part people miss. On most builds you're waiting eight weeks for one guy in a garage to machine a bracket. On this thing the hard part is deciding, not sourcing. Which is where the real argument lives right now: do you buy the 15-17 with the older Coyote because it's cheaper, lighter on options and every dollar you save goes into wheels and tires — or do you stretch for an 18+ PP1 6MT because the Gen 3 motor and the factory brake/diff package are worth more than any bolt-on you'd add later?

Cheap car, big wheel budget. Or right car, wait on the wheels. Pick one and defend it.

Save this for the day the hunt gets serious.
