OSHA just proposed $265,868 in penalties against Araujo Construction after inspectors caught roofing crews on two Chicago-area sites with ZERO fall protection - 25 feet up, installing rafters and sheeting, no tie-off.

The breakdown: 2 willful violations and 9 repeat violations. When OSHA sees “willful” plus “repeat,” the fines multiply fast. This is the most expensive kind of OSHA citation a contractor can get.

A full harness setup costs about $150. This fine costs a quarter of a million dollars. You do the math.
