Okay landscapers… I want to hear what you think about this one.

Milwaukee just introduced the new M18 Self-Propelled Broadcast Spreader, and unlike a traditional push spreader, this thing actually propels itself.

The idea is pretty simple — when you’ve got a fully loaded hopper and multiple properties to cover every day, why spend all day pushing that weight around?

It has three self-propelled speeds at 2.5, 3.0 and 3.5 mph, with the system regulating the rotary disk speed to help maintain a consistent application as you work. The dispersion controls, deflector, and speed settings are also positioned right at the handles.

It’s built around a stainless steel frame with a sealed gearbox and battery compartment, and the included M18 FORGE 12.0 battery is rated for up to 357,000 sq. ft. of coverage per charge.

The price? $1,499.

That’s definitely aimed more toward professionals covering serious ground, so I’m curious…

Landscapers and lawn-care guys — at $1,499, does the time and effort saved by going self-propelled justify the price?
