## Caption

Prophets in the Book of Mormon often looked to heroes in the Hebrew Bible to inspire courage and learn important gospel principles. Moses raising up the brass serpent in the wilderness, originally found in the book of Numbers, is one of them. It is mentioned three different times in the Book of Mormon (1 Nephi 17, Alma 33, and Helaman 8), teaching us that not only was it important for the Israelites who experienced it, the account carries value when we hear it thousands of years later.

How does turning to the scriptures give you perspective in your modern life?
