A 15 year old is missing in southern Arizona and he does not have his insulin.

Ryker Lee was last seen on foot around 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 22, near State Route 86 and State Route 286 in Three Points, west of Tucson. He is a Type 1 diabetic who needs daily insulin, and the Pima County Sheriff’s Department says he does not have his medication with him. That makes this a medical emergency on top of a missing person case.

He is 15, about 5 foot 9 and 120 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes. He was last seen wearing a neon green shirt and floral print pants.

Pima County Search and Rescue has been out looking since Tuesday.

While deputies were investigating his disappearance, they say they found evidence of child abuse involving Ryker and his two younger siblings. According to the sheriff’s department, Ryker had been kept in a small padlocked room inside a recreational vehicle on the property with no running water, no restroom and no air conditioning.

His mother, Danielle Renae Lee-Sharp, 39, and his stepfather, Michael Aaron Menzie, 43, were each charged with three counts of child abuse. They made their initial court appearances Wednesday morning. Her bond was set at $5,000 and his at $10,000, because of a prior misdemeanor conviction on similar charges involving the children. According to the Pima County jail roster, neither was still in custody as of Wednesday night.

His two younger siblings, ages 10 and 8, are now in the custody of the Arizona Department of Child Safety.

These are charges. Nobody has been convicted of anything.

If you are anywhere between Tucson and Three Points, or out along the 86 or the 286, please look at that photo again.

If you see him or know where he is, call the Pima County Sheriff’s Department. Do not put sightings in the comments. Call it in so somebody can actually go.

Everything above comes from the Pima County Sheriff’s Department.
