A late-night fight outside a Tempe In-N-Out ended with one man in the hospital and another person fleeing before police arrived.

Tempe police say officers were called to the restaurant near Baseline Road and Calle Los Cerros just after midnight Sunday after a fight broke out between a group of men.

During the fight, police say one man pulled out a firearm. A struggle followed and the firearm went off, hitting another man with bullet fragments.

The injured man was taken to the hospital and has since been released.

Police say the suspect left the area before officers arrived and is still being sought. As of the latest update, police have not released a suspect description or said what started the fight.
