If somebody would have told me back in 2012 that the guy my friend was introducing to me in Hong Kong was going to be the love of my life, I wouldn't have believed it. We weren't in love at first sight, maybe he was but not me lol.

But destiny always finds a way. When in 2018, I decided to celebrate my birthday in Melbourne, I was shaken to the core when he joined the celebration. We hadn't seen each other for 5 years, but there he was, flying over from Canberra to celebrate with me. Smart move! This time I fell for him completely! He lighted up my birthday, definitely my best birthday gift. 

When the trip ended, we both returned to our homes. We were emotionally attached but physically apart, but we gave it a try. I flew to Canberra to visit him, and he did the same to Hong Kong once in 2019. But the pandemic put a major barrier between us that we managed to overcome through video calls every day. Everyone around us couldn't believe that we were lasting that long. 

I used to have high-profile relationships to show the world I was in love, but I wanted to protect him and our relationship this time. I didn't want anything or anyone to ruin the special bond we had created. A relationship is all about mutual enrichment. It is about complimenting each other to make our positive sides shine together. That is what he does with me. 

My love, you are always there supporting me, sharing your wisdom with me as no other. You teach me every day to always try to take the best out of every situation, despite how adverse reality can be. You are my rock and inspiration, the one who makes me value every instant and moment of our life without taking anything or anyone for granted. 

They say happiness is found in a true friend but trust me when I say that far happier when you find your true friend in your husband. Thank you for making me feel loved and protected. I promise always to work hard to make our love grow. I love you, and I am proud to be Mrs. Liau finally. 

Last, thank you angela_gela_la for styling my hair and being our witness. You have been such a good friend since we were a kid, love you!
