This week revealed the next phase of the exponential era.

Technology is moving from capability to agency.

NVIDIA brought agentic AI deeper into robotics.

Meta’s Muse can send emails, book travel and execute transactions.

AI is no longer merely answering questions.

It is acquiring authority. 

Crypto crossed another boundary too.

The ECB launched Pontes, allowing tokenized assets to settle through central bank money.

Binance invested $100M in Circle.

SoFi is settling card transactions using its own stablecoin. 

The old crypto versus banks narrative is dying.

The battle is becoming which rails money travels on.

In longevity, GRAIL moved closer to FDA approval for Galleri, its blood test targeting signals from 50 plus cancers.

Potentially enormous.

But detection is not outcome.

The real threshold remains proving that earlier information creates longer, healthier lives. 

Follow the capital.

Hubble Network raised $200M for satellite connectivity.

Accelevation is targeting a $5.4B valuation selling data center power, cooling and infrastructure.

Meta could spend $145B this year. 

The money is moving toward infrastructure.

And digital culture reveals the final piece.

AI makes competent content abundant.

That makes taste, identity, trust and direct audience relationships more scarce.

My forward hypothesis:

Permission becomes one of the defining markets of the exponential era.

AI needs permission to act.

Money needs permission to settle.

Medicine needs permission to intervene.

Platforms determine permission to distribute.

Capability was phase one.

Trusted agency is phase two.

The question is no longer simply:

Can technology do it?

It is becoming:

Who decides what technology is allowed to do?
