Today, on Dolly Parton Day, we remember a woman who didn’t just say Black lives mattered. She showed it.

Dolly understood how circumstance can shape a child’s future. Through the Imagination Library, she put millions of free books in children’s hands, giving kids the chance to dream bigger.

She embraced Black artists, spoke plainly against racism, supported Black Lives Matter, and invested nearly $10 million in Whitney Houston royalties back into a Black Nashville neighborhood.

Her philanthropy, music, and generosity reached far beyond country music.

“When I was growing up in the hills of East Tennessee, I knew my dreams would come true. I know there are children in your community with their own dreams. They need to be given the chance to see them come true.”

Today, we remember Dolly by remembering what she showed us: compassion means more when you put it into action. ❤️
