UPDATE: Less than one week into Wyoming's hunting season and four wolves have been killed in Areas 1 and 2, where Mollie's pack had been spotted. The areas have met their quota and are now closed for the remainder of the hunting season.

The good news: None of the wolves killed were from Yellowstone's beloved, historic Mollie's pack — including matriarch 1090F. For now, the pack is safe.

The bad news: Across the state, 10 wolves have been killed by trophy hunters and 12 more wolf tags remain.

And, if the Wyoming Game and Fish Commission doesn't move to protect Mollie's pack, they'll face the same threat again next year.

But the fight is much bigger than one pack.

Years ago, wolves in the Northern Rockies lost federal Endangered Species Act safeguards. In their absence, states have let wolf-killing run rampant.

We're in court to protect them all.

We're fighting to restore federal protection to northern Rockies wolves so they're safe wherever they roam, including beyond the boundaries of Yellowstone National Park.

Help support our ongoing work to save wolves with a gift today to our Wolf Defense Fund at the 🔗 in our bio. 🐺💚
