Since 1886, the Calgary Stampede has been at the heart of this community as a year-round gathering place, where people from around the corner, and around the world, come together to connect, share ideas, share traditions, make new traditions, and celebrate.

This #WorldTourismDay, we’re celebrating the incredible impact of tourism across Alberta. For more than a century, we have been proud to be a growing contributor to our community, generating $721 million in economic impact to Alberta each year. This translates to helping fill hotels, restaurants, local businesses, attractions, taxis and ride shares. It also means creating jobs, attracting tourism and visitors, connecting agricultural and industry thought leaders and building our city.

And we don’t do it alone! Thank you to our tourism partners for helping welcome guests with open arms, and to Calgarians for showcasing our collective Calgary community spirit with the world!
