Todd Crocker, the new radio voice of the Toronto Maple Leafs, joins Nick Alberga & Jay Rosehill for an in-depth conversation about landing one of the biggest jobs in Canadian sports.

Crocker opens up about the process behind the scenes, how he landed the Leafs gig, and the emotional moment he received the official call while on vacation in Madrid with his wife. Even days later, he admits he’s still trying to wrap his head around the news.

He also shares his thoughts on the Maple Leafs, why he believes last season was an anomaly, and the excitement surrounding Gavin McKenna and Easton Cowan. Crocker explains what intrigues him most about the No. 1 overall pick and why he’s excited to watch Cowan take another step.

After 13 years calling Marlies games, Crocker reflects on his AHL broadcasting journey and fittingly finishing his tenure by calling the Marlies’ Calder Cup championship last season. He also names Ben Danford as a player Leafs fans should keep an eye on this season.

Plus, Crocker discusses the responsibility of replacing the legendary Joe Bowen and reveals the advice Bowen gave him after he got the job:

“You just gotta be you.”
