How to see one of Vancouver Island’s most stunning roadside views…👇😱

🌲 Located along the Pacific Rim Highway on Vancouver Island, the Taylor River Rest Area is one of Canada’s “hidden gems”. Right next to the parking lot, and restrooms, the Taylor River winds through a lush rainforest valley surrounded by towering trees and rugged mountains, creating an incredible scene that simply doesn’t look real.

💎 But the real highlight is the water. The Taylor River is known for its remarkably clear, turquoise-blue water, with sections so transparent that you can perfectly see the rocks beneath the surface. When the light hits the river just right the color of the water almost doesn’t look real.

🏔️ The contrast between the brilliant blue-green river, moss-covered forest, and surrounding mountains makes this one of the most scenic stops along Highway 4. And because the river is right alongside the road, you can experience this incredible landscape without any hiking as it’s just a few steps from the parking lot.

📍 The rest area is located along Highway 4 between Port Alberni and the west coast of Vancouver Island, making it an easy stop if you’re driving toward Tofino or Ucluelet.
