The Southern Ocean runs on krill.

These tiny creatures provide food for whales, penguins, seals, seabirds, and fish, supporting some of the most iconic wildlife on Earth.

Yet while Antarctic wildlife is increasingly under pressure from climate change and human activities, krill are being extracted at record levels to produce products such as omega-3 health supplements, aquaculture feed and pet food. 

Every tonne removed from the ocean is a tonne unavailable to the animals that depend on it for survival. The future of Antarctica should not be traded for products we can live without. It’s time to put wildlife first.
