## Caption

Prairie View A&M University mourns the passing of former Texas State Representative Garnet F. Coleman, a devoted public servant and longtime friend and advocate of PVAMU.

His ties to Prairie View were deeply rooted in family. His father, Dr. John B. Coleman, served on The Texas A&M University System Board of Regents and was a steadfast advocate for PVAMU. The John B. Coleman Library bears his name and honors that legacy.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to the Coleman family and all who loved him. His legacy of service and enduring connection to Prairie View will be remembered with gratitude.
