✨ Denny Kennington, Nate Breske, Marissa Figueroa, Tabani Richards, Chris Clark, Joe Micca and Mark Kim. ✨ These are a few of the many BuffaloBills athletic trainers and medical professionals who used their CPR knowledge and training to save Damar Hamlin’s life after he collapsed on the field during a football game on January 2, 2023.

Seconds after Damar had a sudden cardiac arrest, Buffalo Bills team members and physicians quickly responded by administering CPR and calling for additional medical assistance. They took the appropriate emergency steps to ensure Damar received the immediate care required to survive.

If it wasn’t for their knowledge and training in CPR – many of whom were trained by the Red Cross – Damar might not have survived.

In a recent event at the Buffalo Bills’ Highmark Stadium, we recognized Denny, Nate, Marissa, Tabani and Joe with Certificates of Merit, one of the highest awards given to individuals who use their Red Cross training and skills to save or sustain a person’s life. Chris and Mark were also recognized with Red Cross Certificates of Extraordinary Personal Action, which are given to individuals who step up in an emergency to help save someone’s life.

“We’ll be forever grateful for the Red Cross and the certification training that you do to help people know what to do when an emergency station arises,” Nate said.
