The “Icy White North” was bringing in OVER $100K/Month before police brought it down‼️😳💰🇨🇦

York Regional Police say they have dismantled what investigators described as one of the most prolific Canada-based Dark Web drug suppliers at the time, following a major months-long investigation dubbed Project Ghostwire.

Police allege the online network, known as “Icy White North,” had been operating since around 2022 and was generating more than $100,000 in monthly revenue, with cumulative proceeds reaching into the millions of dollars before the takedown.

Five people were arrested: Cedric Olipano, 38, of Mississauga; Lexia Oliver, 23, of Toronto; Pui Yan Lai, 42, of Oakville; Benjamin Cuenta, 34, of Vaughan; and Sierra Boudreau, 27, of Brampton.

The five accused face a combined 81 charges, including allegations related to drug trafficking, conspiracy, weapons and proceeds of crime.

The alleged operation catered exclusively to Canadian customers, with investigators saying buyers communicated through encrypted Dark Web platforms, paid using cryptocurrency and received packages through legitimate mail-delivery services.

Drugs were allegedly offered in quantities ranging from smaller street-level amounts to bulk orders of up to one kilogram.

The scale of the takedown was significant. Police reported recovering approximately $3 million in illicit drugs, alongside substantial cash, cryptocurrency and alleged proceeds of crime.

High-end vehicles, luxury watches, a firearm, ammunition and other evidence were also seized during the investigation.

Police say the investigation also marked the first time York Regional Police seized cryptocurrency as part of an investigation.
