Last week I shared about the neurological recovery I’ve been navigating for the past handful of months. I literally talk about vulnerability on stages and there’s a chance you’re here because of the vulnerability with which I’ve shared my story over the years. No matter how many reps I have, I keep learning lessons within it, including this time around too.

On one hand, it can result in a vulnerability hangover. On the other, it can be a relief. That’s what I’m feeling from last week: a literal and metaphorical weight and tension off my shoulders. It feels good to share.

Sometimes, it’s both.

Fittingly, I recorded this video a couple of days ago. In the time since, I’ve had some more reps of *real* vulnerability—both with a microphone on a stage and some more in private. Some I’ve felt a vulnerability hangover from, some I haven’t. Which therein lies the lesson: it’s not to avoid the hangover. Because sometimes it’s inevitable. It’s part of being human and being vulnerable. It’s a truth of vulnerability. For me, it’s about the intention beforehand, sticking true to myself during, and pausing for reflection—like the moment this video is from—afterwards.
