🥹 Seventeen years later, Jeremy Clarkson and James May unexpectedly found two of the cars that helped define one of their most memorable adventures.

During the final Grand Tour special, One for the Road, the trio crossed from Zimbabwe into Botswana and returned to places they had first visited during the legendary 2007 Top Gear Botswana Special.

While passing through Maun, Clarkson suddenly spotted the battered Lancia Beta Coupé he had driven across Botswana all those years earlier.

Parked nearby was James May’s old Mercedes-Benz 230E from the same journey.
⠀
Clarkson recognized his Lancia from the faded “Lite Bite Cafe” markings, while May confirmed the Mercedes was really his by finding the same five-speed gear knob fitted to its four-speed gearbox.

The cars had remained in Botswana for years, making the completely unexpected reunion one of the most emotional moments of their final adventure together.

After more than two decades of Clarkson, Hammond and May traveling the world together, ending their last special back in Botswana made the moment hit even harder.
