🔥 Nissan just put the future of the Z Kaze in enthusiasts’ hands, saying strong enough public demand could turn this T-top concept into a production car.

The Z Kaze debuted at ZCON as a modern tribute to Nissan’s open-roof Z heritage and the Japanese tuner culture that exploded in the 1990s.

Its defining feature is a custom-engineered T-top setup that gives the current Z the open-air character many fans associate with the Z32 300ZX.

Nissan finished the car in Pacific Teal and added a vented carbon-fiber hood, widened fenders and a custom carbon aero package for a proper period-inspired tuner stance.

Even better, those wheels are authentic restored 18-inch NISMO LMGT2s measuring 10 inches wide up front and 11 inches out back, sourced from a long-discontinued original set.

Underneath, Nissan fitted an extensively upgraded NISMO suspension setup rather than treating the Kaze as a purely cosmetic show car.

The twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 also gets GReddy hardware including a SUPREME SP exhaust, front-mount air-to-air intercooler and Airinx air filter kit.

Inside, white leather-appointed seats and Bose Personal Plus headrest speakers reinforce the idea that this thing was designed to be enjoyed with the roof panels out.

Most importantly, Nissan North America product boss Ponz Pandikuthira said that if the concept is well received, the company is prepared to “make that car happen.”

Is a production T-top Z exactly the kind of heritage-driven sports car Nissan should be building right now?

What are your thoughts? 🤔💭
