Replying to @kalei_doescope When making his “Carpoolers” photobook, Alejandro Cartagena felt something was missing, so he decided to become one of the “Carpoolers.” Watch as the artist tells the story behind these “missing” photographs on the wall in our latest exhibition “Ground Rules.” Cartagena’s mid-career retrospective “Ground Rules” features “Carpoolers” along with over 20 years of his photographic works, which explore social and environmental issues through documentary images, collage, vernacular photography, and AI-generated video. 📍Now open on Floor 3 #AlejandroCartagena #Carpoolers #Photography #fotografia #SFMOMA
