Iran has put forward a seven-day proposal aimed at ending hostilities in the Middle East and reopening the strategically important Strait of Hormuz.⁣
⁣
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi outlined the proposal during a private gathering on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York.⁣
⁣
The proposal closely resembles a previous Memorandum of Understanding that expired in August, but sets out a much shorter timeline.⁣
