Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said he abandoned his prepared remarks after hearing U.S. President Donald Trump's speech, choosing instead to criticize US actions towards Iran and other countries.⁣
⁣
Speaking on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York, Pezeshkian said it was "unbecoming" of the United States to promote such a worldview, adding that Washington has rarely been so open about saying it will destroy another country.⁣
⁣
"They cannot destroy Iran. Iran is a country with deep historical roots," he said.⁣
