Pregnancy loss can leave you feeling things that are almost impossible to put into words.

On my own journey to parenthood, I experienced an ectopic pregnancy and five miscarriages. Everyone grieves differently, and there’s no right way to get through it. I tried to build a wall around myself so I wouldn’t fall apart. My husband wanted to hold me and cry. We were both grieving, but in very different ways.

I was focused on staying strong and holding on to the hope of having a baby. Looking back, I wish I’d reached out, found support and spoken to others who understood. I think it could have helped so much. Organisations like Tommy’s are there for people going through pregnancy loss, and their support matters.

After our second round of IVF, we were blessed with our beautiful twin girls. I still pinch myself every day that they’re here.

When they were about a year old, I was on a train and saw a magazine image of a ghost child with her hands inside her mum’s. Something in me suddenly broke open. I cried uncontrollably for the rest of the journey. I hadn’t realised how much I’d been carrying inside.

However you’re coping, your feelings are valid. You don’t have to go through this alone. We’re all here for you, and we’re sending you so much love. 💛
