WHICH SET DID YOU SEE FIRST?

Each set building process is different, but this one was truly a push for me as a director, but also for vmodance 🌟 I love sharing behind the scenes moments, so let’s get into it! 

As I was watching the idl.global’s first season progress, I noticed something common that people would say about teams that wanted to go pro. “Many teams don’t know how to put two different sets together in a time span.” I agreed with this sentiment, but I wanted to see if V Mo could do it at the beginning of our journey to IDL. 

Here are 1 of the 2 sets that we built within the first few practices of preparing for IDL, right as the Seoul Series was happening in the beginning of August. I asked the team at practice , “If we were asked to compete at a pro level with only a few practices, what would it look like? Do we have what it takes to be at that level?” I gave each dancer a number so they would know what it felt to have eyes on them in a different way, & sent this footage to jess_holyfield to critique even before starting our set for the LA event. Mind you, Jess sent back a 46 minute video with feedback & encouragement that really helped the team through our journey, you are one of a kind Jess. We love you 💜

Product matters of course, but this process was one that mattered most to me & I am grateful to the team for being up for the challenge every time. You can see the prototypes of so many of the moments that made it in our final set, I love to see a visual/phrase evolve like a pokémon ✨ You can see the growth from each member who went on this journey, proud is an understatement 🫂🥹 I would overlay the music, but I love to hear the team pushing & encouraging each other, I hope y’all do too!
