You're scrolling through IG, TikTok, or YouTube and out of nowhere someone's win lands in your feed, that gets your attention in ways others didn't. And just like that, you begin to feel like you are behind and everyone is winning except you.

Here is what you should know about that feeling, and the two directions it could take you.

Direction 1:
In one direction, you allow the negative thoughts to arrive, and before you know it, it begins to consume you and convince you that other people's wins are somehow proof of your own failure.

Direction 2:
The other direction you can take is, instead of negativity, you take what you see as information. You must realize that the only reason you are feeling this way is because this is something that you really care about. We only feel strongly about this when we care about it. This is why it deserves your attention instead of trying to make it go away.

So when these feelings arrive, separate the achievement part from your self-worth. Because someone else's win is really just a fact about their week and has nothing to do with you. Also remember that people are showing you their highlights, not the full story. No one will show you the losses and heartache.

So in these moments, become more curious and less critical, and when you feel comparison anxiety rising, ask what the feeling is actually pointing you toward. What is the signal pointing to in your own life that you can make some adjustments to?

This is how we turn negative thoughts into positive and action-filled thoughts.
You're allowed to want to win in your own life, without that meaning something is wrong with you or other people are better than you. Because they are not. Allow yourself to feel how you feel, then seek out why that feeling is so strong. Then find the signal and what it's pointing to in your own life.

In almost every case, it's pointing to something that you may have overlooked, forgotten, or that needs to be created.

So what's the last thing you found yourself comparing yourself to, and what do you think it was actually telling you about what you want? #AnxietyHelp #anxiety #anxietysupport #beverlyhills #bhusd
