99.9% AI Score Still Doesn’t Mean AGI 🤯

A model can crush benchmarks and still struggle with the actual work you need it to do.

That’s because benchmarks test specific abilities, not “how intelligent” an AI is overall.

🧠 Humanity’s Last Exam → difficult academic questions
🤖 Agent benchmarks → completing real multi-step tasks
💻 Terminal benchmarks → coding + command-line work
🔬 GPQA → graduate-level science
🎮 Interactive benchmarks → learning unfamiliar environments

And this is the part people often miss:

A 99.9% score doesn’t mean the model can do 99.9% of your job.

The result depends on the tasks, tools, number of attempts, reasoning time and evaluation setup.

As models get better, benchmarks get harder too.

So the real question isn’t just “What did the model score?”

It’s “What can it actually do in the real world?”

Save this before you call the next AI model AGI. 👀
