59 metres deep with a mask. But the depth is only part of the story.

This is Kyle ascending during his Masterclass. Behind that dive is the work that makes every phase feel smoother and more controlled.

A comfortable constant weight dive starts on the surface. 👇

🧘 Relax before you descend. Give yourself time to settle, without rushing.

⬇️ Make your duck dive controlled. Round your back, direct your body downward, and use a smooth arm stroke to bring your legs underwater.

🦵 Equalize early and kick firmly through the strongest surface buoyancy. Stay aligned with the line, then reduce your effort as buoyancy decreases.

🍃 Let freefall begin when you become negatively buoyant. Stay streamlined, release unnecessary tension, and keep following the line.

👄 Take your mouthfill at your planned depth, before equalization becomes difficult. Keep the pressure controlled throughout the descent.

🔄 Make the turn smooth. Avoid sudden movements, twisting, or wasting energy.

⬆️ Ascend with steady kicks, fingers pointing toward the surface, and your body aligned with the line.

✅ Finish with recovery breathing and your safety diver beside you.

Comfort comes from preparation, technique, and knowing when to turn not from forcing a number. Feeling comfortable alone doesn’t guarantee safety: practise deep diving progressively, with qualified supervision and dedicated safety.

Which phase are you working on most: duck dive, equalization, freefall, or ascent? 👇

Save this for your next coached session.
