The Indigo Tribe was built around compassion—but its origin is far darker than the purple light suggests.

This story follows Natromo and Abin Sur from the liberation of planet Nok to the discovery of its naturally occurring Indigo light. They learned that the light could make enemies feel remorse, then turned that discovery into rings capable of transforming even the universe’s most dangerous criminals.

Iroque became Indigo-1 after the ring forced her to confront what she had done. From there, Abin Sur and Natromo expanded the experiment, creating a tribe whose compassion lasted only as long as the rings stayed active.

So here’s the uncomfortable question: is enforced compassion still compassion—or is it just brainwashing with a heroic colour scheme?
