Hal Jordan’s legacy was complicated. His final sacrifice was not.

At Hal’s funeral, the DC heroes remember more than the Green Lantern who fell from grace. Superman honors the life he gave to save the world. Guy Gardner admits that, beneath all their differences, Hal was the kind of hero he wanted to become.

Then John Stewart delivers the most personal tribute of all. Hal did not just teach John how to use a power ring—he taught him how to control his anger, find peace, and become a better man. And when Hal came back one last time, John knew exactly what kind of hero he was witnessing.

Do you remember Hal Jordan for his downfall—or for the way he chose to rise again?
