Explore the New York City that never was — from radical architecture blueprints to discarded developer dreams. Through debate on "The Eleventh Hour" with host Robert Lipsyte, the panel explores what happened when real estate mogul Donald Trump proposed "Television City" — a massive Upper West Side development at the Penn Central Railyards featuring 8,000 luxury apartments and the world's tallest building. In response, architects Michael Sorkin, Lebbeus Woods, and John L. Young designed a radical counter-proposal called "Timesquare." Instead of ignoring the unhoused people living in the railyard tunnels, the architects took inspiration from how they survived and built makeshift homes. Using bold, dystopian sketches and clever writing, they pushed back against profit-minded developers to ask a simple question: "who is New York City built for?"
