He opens up about battling bulimia while filming Rocky III, when chasing the “perfect” body became an obsession. He admits to using steroids at the height of his ‘80s fame, and says he’s quietly lived with anxiety attacks for decades, the first one hitting him at 36 in a dark screening room.

The price of never using a stunt double? 14 major surgeries, including nine on his back and three neck fusions. He now says he’s living on “borrowed time.”

And yes, he talks about the legendary rivalry with Arnold Schwarzenegger, the feud that pushed both of them to make bigger, louder action movies and defined an era.

At 80, Stallone is showing that real strength might be telling the truth.
