🚨 Urgent help needed: your donation will help Re:wild partners iucn_greatapes & iucn_gibbon directly support organizations working on the ground in Borneo to fight the fires alongside local communities while protecting wild orangutans and gibbons. 🦧 Link in bio!

🔥 Over 5 million people have been exposed to wildfire smoke. Bornean Orangutans have been seen fleeing burning forests as their habitat disappears. Bornean White-bearded Gibbons, which spend almost all of their lives in trees, have few options for escape as fires consume the forests around them. As of September, more than 2 million acres (800,000 hectares) of forest have burned across the islands of Borneo and Sumatra. That’s an area 10 times the size of New York City! 🤯

The government of Indonesia, firefighters, local communities, conservation organizations, wildlife rescuers, and researchers are all responding to the fires. Re:wild partners iucn_greatapes & iucn_gibbon work closely with frontline organizations to act now! All support is directed to firefighting efforts to protect critical forests and wildlife. 🔴
