Toni Morrison's groundbreaking novel about a young Black girl's trauma just got pulled from Georgia school shelves, effective immediately.

Cobb County's superintendent cited explicit passages depicting child rape as the reason behind removing "The Bluest Eye." This is the 37th book pulled from the district's libraries since 2023. The novel has faced similar fights across the country, including a reversed ban in Missouri after a federal lawsuit.

Morrison's work has long explored the hardest truths about race, trauma, and survival. This is part of a much bigger national conversation about who gets to decide what students read.
