The Trail Blazers have a 2% chance of winning the Western Conference on kalshi

The entire basketball world has pushed the Portland Trail Blazers out of serious Western Conference conversations, and that massive oversight might be the biggest mistake the league makes all year. While the national media obsesses over the established juggernauts, Portland quietly assembled a volatile, high-ceiling backcourt loaded with chip-on-the-shoulder motivation, elite shot creation, and game-breaking offensive firepower that nobody is prepared to defend.

The foundation starts with Damian Lillard returning fully healthy and operating at one hundred percent after putting his injury setbacks behind him, bringing back trademark deep-range marksmanship and cold-blooded fourth-quarter poise. Alongside him steps Ja Morant, leaving the chaos and constant off-court noise of Memphis behind for a fresh Pacific Northwest setting where the focus shifts exclusively between the lines. Portland provides Morant with the exact low-profile basketball sanctuary he desperately needed to drown out media narratives, clear his head, and lock in strictly on torturing interior defenses.

If this tandem discovers early chemistry, opposing coaching staffs are staring down a complete tactical nightmare. Combining Morant’s explosive paint penetration with Lillard’s limitless shooting gravity forces defenders into impossible pick-and-roll choices with zero room for help-side rotation. Everyone expects a quiet transition year in Portland, but with two transcendent point guards fueled by pure redemption and massive points to prove, the Blazers possess all the ammunition required to completely disrupt the playoff picture. Who is stopping this backcourt when both guards are firing on all cylinders?
