Yes, Katmai is famous for its bears.

Very fat bears.

Did we say hungry bears?  Bears who have apparently made “eat everything” their entire personality. 

But there’s more to Katmai National Park and Preserve than its famously rotund residents. There are volcanoes, rivers, lakes, forests, tundra, coastlines, glaciers, and an absurd amount of spectacular wilderness. Don’t forget the wildlife! There’s moose, lynx, salmon, amazing birds, and many other wildlife. There’s also the geologic wonder that is the Valley of Ten Thousand Smokes, created by one of the largest volcanic eruptions of the 20th century. 

And yes, there are still the bears.
