How I dropped 0.7 off my time in this session⬇️

This is my first time throwing down in two months, so the Velo is kind of atrocious right now. BUT if I’m throwing a 1.64 with a not so great OH velo, I can only imagine what I am capable of when I get my arm back into throwing shape😎

Both throws had the same velo on hittrax. The main difference was my pre-catch movement.

In the first clip (1.71), I’m driving my left knee straight out, which caused me to drift off into the left-handed batter's box, open up early, and be offline. That means it took longer for my jab step to plant. The longer it takes to plant your jab step, the longer it takes to get your throw off. This means my exchange time was slower, this pop time was slower.

In the second clip, with the faster pop time, I internally rotate my left hip to get online and stay straight. My jab step was planted QUICK, which lowers my exchange time (by a fraction) and, in turn, my pop time…. Also the throw was just better

Such a simple fix for a big difference! I know seven hundredths of a second seems like a pretty minuscule number, but it’s a big deal. Milliseconds are truly the difference between a runner being safe and a runner being out

I’m going to post all the throws from this week's session and some behind-the-scenes clips so you can hear what kenny_jmz23 and I are talking about between each throw!
