A great pop time in practice is exciting… but is it showing up in the game?

I’m not saying you need to sit there tracking your practice pop time versus your game pop time every time you throw. At the end of the day if you’re throwing runners out, keep doing what you’re doing. Your game pop time will always be slower than your practice pop time and it’s simply because of the variability that happens in the game.

But if you have a great pop time in practice and you’re not throwing runners out, I would want to know what’s happening between the two. Are you rushing when you see the runner takeoff? Does your exchange time slowed down on pictures that aren’t right down the middle? Is your footwork taking you somewhere you don’t wanna go? Are you slow to react and pick up a runner stealing on you?

Keep working on getting faster. Just don’t get so caught up in your best number that you forget while you’re working on it in the first place.

DM me THROW if your throw isn’t translating from practice to the game🤝
