## Caption

During Artemis II, astronaut Reid Wiseman captured Earth from deep space using an iPhone at 8× zoom. The planet appears as a crescent because only part of its sunlit hemisphere faced Orion. Wiseman’s footage shows an “Earthset,” but Earth was not actually setting. Orion was moving behind the Moon, causing the lunar surface to progressively block Earth from view. At its greatest distance, the crew reached about 252,756 miles from Earth, setting a human spaceflight distance record.
