Believe in who you can become 💜

Some kids come to me , and they are unsure of who they are , they are scared to have a dream , in case others judge them for wanting to be more. 

Often beaten down by the frustrations, the lack of acknowledgment for their talent, drive or determination. They allow the decisions of others, the teams they don’t make, and the political process they navigate to knock them down, or force them to give up. 

Not Jessie 

At just 10 years old , in our first ever training session , she looked me straight in the eye and declared “i want to play for New Zealand, and I want to go to college in the USA 🇺🇸”

I said “ok , let’s get to work and make that a reality?” 

Years and years of early mornings , weekends, tours to the USA, trips to NZ, and one of the most incredible work ethics you will ever see, she did just that. 

Along the way - she and others like her , have helped us build a platform which helps so many talented young girls become their best versions of themselves. She helped me build this 🫶 

As she is set to start her 2nd season of college basketball in usueasternwomensbball  her story is only just beginning, with the best still yet to come. I am incredibly excited for her next season, and as i have been since the day she walked into my session at 10 years old, proud of who she has become. 

She never allowed any setbacks to knock her off track , even at times where the frustration, exhaustion and challenges had her questioning if she could keep going, i told her “you will not give up , you will keep working, and you will get where you want to be” 👆👏

When people ask me why at 48 years old, i still get up at 530am , and why i put so much passion and energy every day into helping young athletes believe in themselves, and reach their potential,  Jessie , and the kids just like her are the answer. 🙏💜 

YES YOU CAN ! 

Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise, you just need to work hard, and have the right mindset every day.
