One of the biggest red flags to look out for when choosing a partner is an unhealthy obsession with someone famous, a celebrity, an artist, or anyone who doesn't actually know them in real life.

Because when someone has built an entire fantasy around another person, you're not competing with a human being.

You're competing with an idealized version of them that exists entirely in their imagination.

And that's a game you're never going to win.

The fantasy will always be more exciting than the reality.

They can project whatever qualities they want onto that person. They don't have to deal with their flaws, their bad habits, their moods, their disagreements, or the realities of an actual relationship.

And if they ever get the opportunity to live out that fantasy, don't be surprised if everything you've done for them suddenly becomes irrelevant.

The time you've invested.

The sacrifices you've made.

The experiences you've shared.

The love you've given.

None of it necessarily matters when someone has already decided that the fantasy is more valuable than the reality sitting in front of them.

So if the person you're dating is obsessed with a celebrity, artist, influencer, or someone they hold in higher regard than you, pay attention.

You shouldn't have to compete for first place in your own relationship.

Let them live out the fantasy.

Just don't volunteer to sit in second place waiting for them to realize what they had.

Because you're never going to win a competition against someone's imagination.
