Shakespeare meets China's most enduring love story 🦋

Juliet & Jul-Yingtai brings together Juliet from Romeo and Juliet and Jul-Yingtai from the ancient Chinese legend The Butterfly Lovers. Performed in English and Mandarin, this original play by Wisteria Deng weaves nuó dance, memory and myth into a story of how women love: each other, and at last, themselves.

"Our body is not an apology. Our memory is not a curse. Our love is not a weakness."

After a sold-out premiere at Yale and a Boston run at the historic Strand Theatre, vermilion_theater brings this bilingual journey to Jersey City.
