Keelon Russell threw four touchdown passes in the first half alone and added a rushing score in the fourth quarter as No. 8 Alabama put South Carolina away early at Bryant-Denny Stadium.

The Crimson Tide rolled past the Gamecocks 49-18 in front of 100,077 fans in Tuscaloosa, pushing their record to 4-0. South Carolina fell to 2-2.

Alabama struck fast, with Russell finding Lotzeir Brooks for a 75-yard touchdown just before the five-minute mark of the first quarter, then hitting Ryan Coleman-Williams on a 32-yard score to close the period with a 14-0 lead. South Carolina got on the board with a 34-yard Malik Orsan field goal early in the second quarter, but Alabama answered immediately. Russell and Coleman-Williams connected again, this time from 42 yards out, and Russell added a third touchdown pass, a 3-yarder to Josh Ford, to make it 28-3. Red Morgan turned a Sellers interception into a 23-yard pick-six to push the lead to 35-3 before South Carolina closed the half with LaNorris Sellers finding Nyck Harbor for a 41-yard touchdown, cutting it to 35-10 at intermission.

South Carolina opened the fourth quarter with some momentum, as Matt Fuller punched in a 9-yard touchdown run and Maurice Brown II converted the two-point try to make it 35-18. But Alabama shut the door from there. Daniel Hill scored on a 1-yard run, and Russell capped his night with a 9-yard touchdown run of his own to make it 49-18. Russell finished 21 of 27 for 365 yards and four touchdowns through the air, with Coleman-Williams hauling in five catches for 98 yards and two scores. Fuller led South Carolina with 112 yards and a touchdown on 19 carries, while Sellers passed for 185 yards with a touchdown and an interception.

Alabama travels to face Mississippi State next, while South Carolina returns home to host Kentucky.
