Today, the WNBA announced that Reese has officially been named the league’s 2026 Defensive Player of the Year, making her the first player in Atlanta Dream franchise history to take home the honor. 🏆 _________________________
Reese earned 46 of the 74 votes from a national panel of sportswriters and broadcasters. Gabby Williams finished second with 20 votes, while Las Vegas Aces star A’ja Wilson, a three-time DPOY winner over the past four seasons, finished third with four votes.

Despite taking home the hardware, Reese made sure to shout out her teammates Jordin Canada and Rhyne Howard, saying she wants them to sign the trophy because they “deserve it just as much” as she does. “I’m grateful for Atlanta, I’m grateful for my teammates and my coaches and all the supporting staff that supports us. It’s just the beginning,” Reese said. _________________________
