Then AI coding agents like Claude Opus 5.5 enter the picture.

Through Claude Code, developers can analyze massive codebases, understand how different systems work, generate new code, troubleshoot problems, and help combine mechanics from completely different games. Some recent modding projects are even crediting Opus 5.5 as part of their development workflow.

The result is pretty wild.

A single creator can now experiment with projects that once required years of reverse engineering and expertise across multiple game engines.
