OpenAI just introduced Dots, small AI agents inside ChatGPT designed to keep working for you around the clock. 🤖⚡

Each Dot gets access to its own cloud computer and browser, allowing it to continue handling tasks in the background even when you’re no longer in ChatGPT.

You can assign a Dot an ongoing task, connect it with thousands of apps, give it context to remember what it’s working on, and schedule jobs to run automatically.

Once the work is finished, the results are brought back to you so you can review everything.

But the bigger idea is what comes next. OpenAI says its long-term vision involves people having entire teams of Dots working on their behalf, with different agents taking care of different parts of a larger workflow.

That moves AI beyond simply answering questions when you open a chat and toward having AI actively handle work for you. 👀
