AI/CC October 2026 Featured Artist — Toriaezoo

What happens when the ordinary is altered just enough to become strange?

For Toriaezoo, that small shift is where the work begins.

Our October Featured Artist takes familiar objects and quietly disrupts them — transforming the everyday through unexpected forms, tactile surfaces, and precisely composed visual interventions. The result is a world that feels playful and polished, yet slightly off in a way that makes you look twice.

Based in Japan, Toriaezoo works between minimalism and subtle surrealism. Influenced by minimal design, materiality, and the precision of product photography, her visual language is built around texture, balance, and negative space.

There is no fixed narrative to decode. Instead, Toriaezoo embraces ambiguity, leaving space for each viewer to encounter the work differently — whether through humour, curiosity, discomfort, or simple visual pleasure.

Even her name carries this spirit of experimentation. Toriaezu means “let’s give it a try” in Japanese, while “Zoo” reflects the diversity of her creations — individual personalities gathered into an evolving collection of ideas.

Throughout October, we’ll be stepping further into the wonderfully unexpected world of Toriaezoo.
