Anastasia Mez approaches photography as mixed media, using the Polaroid as a material rather than simply a finished image.

Through emulsion lifting, she separates and manipulates the delicate image layer, combining photographs, figures and fragments into layered compositions. The folds, wrinkles and imperfections created along the way remain visible, becoming part of the work itself.

The result blurs the line between photography, collage and painting, transforming a single captured moment into something entirely new.
